What's New in Replicator For DOS Version 1.28
──> Fix For Potential Data Corruption Bug - READ THIS!
This version of Replicator For DOS implements a fix for a
data-corruption bug that was found in the compression library
used by Replicator. This bug has been found and fixed by the
author of the compression library, and the fix is
incorporated into this version of Replicator. We recommend
that all current users obtain a copy of the latest version of
PKUNZIP.EXE, and test any compressed files (*.ZIP) for
possible errors. The data corruption bug appears to be
somewhat obscure, and would have been present in Replicator
For DOS versions 1.00 through 1.27. (In our case, we found 5
verified problem files in a total of 700 disks.) If you have
a bad compressed file, PKUNZIP will report a CRC error on the
file. In this case, you will need to locate the original
disk and recreate the image. We apologize for any
inconvenience to our users.
──> Network & CD-ROM Improvements!
Changes have been made to allow users to access disk images
located on a CD-ROM drive. A new "Working Directory" has
been added to specify where image files will be placed when
they are decompressed (during the disk creation process).
Previously, Replicator would attempt to place decompressed
image files in the same directory as the compressed files.
This would not be possible for CD-ROM users. The Working
Directory field fixes this problem. Also, a file locking
system has been added to manage multiple access to the
REPLICAT.INI file under network and multitasking
environments. A complete list of revisions can be found in
the file REPLICAT.REV.
What's New in Replicator Version 1.27
──> Feature Enhancements / Minor Problem Fixes
Replicator Version 1.27 adds new useful features such as an
error retry loop to allow users to instruct Replicator
whether to retry or cancel an operation when an error
occurs. Some "drive ready" detection routines have also
been added. The virus scanner dialog box now contains
browse buttons to allow users to search for their virus
scanner(s) using file dialog boxes. Some minor and/or
intermittent problems were also addressed. See the file
REPLICAT.REV for more information.
What's New in Replicator Version 1.26
──> Feature Enhancements!
This release of Replicator adds virus scanner support. Up
to two virus scanners may be used on each diskette that is
copied. This release also changes the names of a couple of
the menu options, and rearranges the way the "Create Disk
From Image" screen works. Several potential error
conditions have also been addressed. For a complete list of
changes, see the file REPLICAT.REV.

──> Memory Requirements Reduced!
Replicator Version 1.25 reduces the memory requirements
needed to run Replicator. This will assist users attempting
to use Replicator on memory-limited computer systems. Also,
the potential size of the file list field has been increased
from approximately 260 files to 375 files. For a complete
list of revisions, see the file REPLICAT.REV.
What's New in Replicator Version 1.24
──> Problem Fix For RunTime Error
Version 1.24 fixes a problem where a RunTime Error 216 would
occur when retrieving information from a diskette about its
directories and files. This problem appeared when there was
more than 16K (usually about 275 files/directories) on the
source diskette. Replicator cannot currently store more 16K
of file/directory data. If Replicator reaches this limit,
it now display a message box indicating that some of the
data was truncated. Other minor fixes / enhancements have
also been added to this version of Replicator.
What's New in Replicator Version 1.23
──> Maintenance Release
Version 1.23 changes some of Replicator's default behaviors.
After deleting a record, Replicator will now reset the
display to the NEXT record in the database instead of the
first. Also, when searching the entire database for a user-
specified text string, Replicator will now create the
temporary search databases in a temporary sub-directory
named TEMP0001, TEMP0002, etc. Other minor issues were
addressed concerning network licensing restrictions.
What's New in Replicator Version 1.22
──> Extended 25, 28, 43, or 50 line text modes!
Replicator Version 1.22 contains the ability to use extended
text modes on VGA monitors. This allows users to view more
of the file list window without needing to scroll it. The
file REPLICAT.REV offers a complete list of revisions /
changes.
What's New in Replicator Version 1.21
──> Enhanced OS/2 Support.
Replicator Version 1.21 has added enhanced OS/2 support.
Users can now select Interrupt 25/26 reading and writing
routines under OS/2 to eliminate intermittent error messages
such as, "DMA Crossed 64K Boundary". Also an "OS/2 Verify
Delay" has been added to allow the disk drive to "settle
down" after creating a disk (but before the verify process
begins). Because of how OS/2 handles floppy drives, one user
reported a time-out error in this area. The verify delay
will only occur under OS/2 when the OS/2 Verify Delay is set
to more than 0 seconds.

──> Other Costmetic Changes.
Users should also notice that the "Copy File To Disk" screen
now contains a scrollable file list window. When a file is
selected from the browser, Replicator will display the list
of files contained on the associated diskette.
What's New in Replicator Version 1.20
──> Major Enhancements!
Replicator Version 1.20 has added many new features, such as:
1. An expanded database that includes the date the database
image was created, information about the original disk
(total files, bytes consumed, bytes free, and volume
label), and a complete listing of all files on the disk
(including filename, size, date, time, and relative sub-
directory).
2. Automatic detection of floppy disk sizes when creating an
image file from a diskette. (Manual override is still
available. If the type you specify does not match the
type in the drive, Replicator issues a warning message
with the option to continue.)
3. Printing support has been added! Print the current record
or all records in the database to LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, or a
file on disk.
4. Searching support has been enhanced substantially! Search
for a keyword or phrase in any field of the database, with
optional case sensitivity.

──> Major Problem Fix and Enhancements.
A major problem has been fixed in Replicator. The default
network type was set to "NOVELL" instead of "NONET" in the
REPLICAT.INI file. This would cause an error #8100 on
single-user system
